Hello! I'm James Odom and I joined the TFYP Executive Committee in 2023. I moved to Austin from Raleigh North Carolina in late 2018 and got involved with TreeFolks shortly after.

I love trees!

Alexis Dorn
Alexis Dorn
QA Engineer, TFYP Exec Team

I am a QA engineer by day, social cause champion by night. I love to bring my passion for causes away from the computer and outside in nature and my Austin community. I've worked, volunteered and sat on the board of other animal welfare and community development nonprofits.

Kyle Hoskins

I work on a computer all day, so I love a chance to get outside and hike, kayak, or play sports (mostly tennis these days). I volunteer with TreeFolks because it gives me a chance to support planting trees all across Austin!

Andrew Overby
Andrew Overby
Product Manager

I have always been interested in environmental & nature-related topics, and spend a lot of time outside when I can. In the past, I have done some gardening, and look forward to helping plant lots of trees!

Zach Rubin
Zach Rubin
Data Analyst

I work with computers and numbers a lot, but I'm passionate about nature and trees. I really like working with my hands and looking at a project when it's finished (like planting a baby tree)!

Joshua Johnson

Software Engineering Consultant

My interests in tree stems from my desire to create a more healthy environment and community. The fight against climate change starts with grassroots efforts like TFYP.

Valerie Benson
Valerie Benson
Higher Education Professional

Being new to Central Texas, I wanted an opportunity to connect with likeminded folks that enjoy supporting the environment. Treefolks gives me the opportunity to not only connect with others but to also directly impact the community by tree planting, reforestation, and environmental education initiatives.

Celeste Flahaven

Copywriting and Email Marketing Manager

I grew up going on tree walks with my dad, an activity I think later contributed to my interest in ecology. As a former farmer and now communications expert, I hope to bring my experience and love for trees to the community!

Building community from the roots! Engaging in direct action to improve sustainability while being apart of a community of nature oriented folks, especially as someone who spends their day working on a computer

Kristen Koppel

Environmental Protection Specialist

I am eager to get more involved in the conservation space in Austin! I want to make a difference in my community, and the collaboration with other environmentally conscious folks is a huge bonus.

Davin Singh
Davin Singh
Software Engineer

I grew up playing in the mud under my backyard's fruit trees, camping with boy scouts, and hugging the California redwoods on road trips. In college, I felt a sense of community leading a research group building AI waste bins. I recently moved to Austin, so I'm excited about volunteering with TreeFolks and supporting Austin's beautiful nature!

Nathan Mandi

AI Engineer/Consultant

I've been looking for a group like Treefolks that share my love of trees and giving back to the environment. They do such great work an Austin is better off for it. In addition to just being out in nature, I enjoy rock climbing, running, meditation, and volunteering at farms.
